Game 2 (1-1)

Perfect season dreams are now done. So are the dreams that middle/long relief is any better this year. Jerome Williams pitch terribly and let the game get away. Even against the Reds, a 5 run lead it too much to overcome in 3 innings. We cannot be letting up 7 runs a game. We will lose 100 games doing that. I know that Great American is a hitters park, but still. We need a better long man for the first few months. I nominate Angel Guzman or Rich Hill (assuming he gets a second pitch). If Jerome is the best we can do, it will be a long year.

Game 1 (1-0)

It was an interesting game. Bush throws out the first pitch and the season looks perfect through the first half inning. 5 runs and a Pierre triple to start. This is how things were supposed to go. Then Zambrono comes in a is all over the place. The bullpen lets up 4 runs in 4.1 innings after they got so much better. The Reds pitching was Reds pitching and let up 17 runs. I am happy we can score and that guys like Murton and Pierre played well. I am not happy that we let up 8 runs and played everyone off the bench but Blanco. I'll take a win, especially on opening day on the road, but this is not how I wanted it to happen.
